Is the United Center guilty of nuturing 'bandwagon' Chicago Bulls fans?

Did you see that?

Monday night’s game 1 Chicago Bulls vs. Atlanta Hawks was the most dreadful fan experience I have ever witnessed in playoff basketball. The momentum of the game was at an all time low from the players to the fans at the United Center. The evening started wonderfully, thanks to Cornelison’s beloved rendition of the National Anthem. Unfortunately, that excitement didn’t last during the essential points of the game when the crowd is needed to step in as the 6th man to rally the guys to pull out a win. The stadium seemed deflated and the energy was too mellow for a playoff setting.

It didn't matter what music the United Center played to get the crowd hyped up or how many times they flashed 'DEFENSE' or 'LET'S GO BULLS' on the scoreboard...nothing.  I've seen a stadium full of fans shift the energy of a team with mediocre action to a group of madmen on the fevered dash to victory.  So it completely behooved me when I didn't hear "Madhouse on Madison" by Mak Legend playing at the stadium to get the whole place rockin'!  Or am I the only one digging the song that much?

Now, anyone who has heard “Madhouse on Madison” shows a serious appreciation for a song that speaks from the perspective of a die hard fan. This modern day ‘charging of the Bulls’ puts you right on the court with a team that fought through being riddled with injuries to finishing number one in the league. And the beauty of it all is that this is only Derrick’s third year. Needless to say, the city is excited about the way this team is shaping up.  It's like watching Jordan and the crew all over again.

I am officially starting a  twitter petition called #TeamMadhouse for the Chicago Bulls anthem "MADHOUSE ON MADISON" to be played all over the city and in the United Center where is it truly needed as the voice of the fans!

So all you MEGA Bulls fans who have heard the song, love the song and want to help out a hometown kid and independent artist, join #TeamMadhouse!  Get your family and friends to support by downloading the song.  Play it, tweet it, like it and talk about it as much as you can! This is OUR TEAM and this is OUR HOUSE...LET'S ACT LIKE IT!

New Chicago Bulls Rally Song!

MAK LEGEND CREATES THE NEW CHICAGO BULLS THEME SONG “MADHOUSE ON MADISON” TO RALLY THE YOUNG BULLS FOR A NEW WINNING DYNASTY.

CHICAGO, IL : As the anticipation builds about the upcoming 2011 NBA playoffs, a Chicago native artist who proclaims himself as THE ultimate Bulls fan, has created a rally song that perfectly articulates the unity, determination and drive exhibited by the Chicago Bulls team in their race to bring the 2011 NBA championship trophy back to the city of Chicago. Mak Legend’s latest creation “Madhouse on Madison” is a 3 minute and 35 second narration of the spectacular Jordan-like ability of young superstar Derrick Rose and his leadership of a strong contending team that has gone blow for blow with the very best in the league. “This new school Bulls team needs a new school theme song, and I believe this is it” says Mak Legend, “and I would love to hear it played in the house that MJ built (Michael Jordan & Jerry Reinsdorf).”

Mak Legend’s prolific and witty writing style has put him in comparison with Jay Z and Chicago’s own Kanye West. His perceptible voice stands apart from most artists today making this a song that even the most biased ear will enjoy hearing.

“Madhouse on Madison” will be available on iTunes, Zune, Amazon MP3, and 40 other digital music sites beginning Tuesday March 29, 2011. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Fund.

So when I heard this song, I must admit, I couldn't believe the Bulls organization would have this a rally song. Not because it isn't good...it's HOTTT! It's just that the Bulls organization is so white washed.  Please forgive me for sounding a little racist, but when you hear cheesy rock songs played during the basketball game, you kinda of have to take a step back and think about it.

Basketball and Hip Hop is an unspoken union.  I dare not say that diversity isn't permitted because it is.  There are players joining NBA teams from various countries and backgrounds and the fanbase share the same demographics. Yet in my opinion, and this is just MY opinion, the Chicago Bulls organization need to get with the times.

Case and point...have you ever heard the music played in the during a Cleveland Cavaliers game.  They be jammin'! A Detroit Pistons game, they get it in.  The music is not just for the fans in the stands but for the players as well. Do this, turn on your favorite song right before you walk into your job and see if you don't walk in with a little pep in your step.  So the same works for a team...music can serve as the sixth man too.

So Mak Legend you have my vote to bring this song to the ears of not only the fans but the PLAYERS! Let's hear it on the Madhouse on Madison.  I just finished downloading my copy...and I help support a good cause at the same time. Sweet....

For Trendsetter's Eyes Only....

What up People,

Let me ask you a question and answer honestly...

Would it be cool to you to hear your five year old walking around singing BIRTHDAY SEX like it's the Alphabet song?

Yeah, I didn't think so.

You know what’s funny, we as a people, regardless of race, age, gender or economic status, love to discuss and debate injustices that we have either experienced or witnessed. Somehow or someway a discussion begins about the crime rate, racism, sexism or some other social disparity and we instantly become amateur AL SHARPTONs in a heartbeat. We seem happy to complain about what's going on in our communities and abroad. Why do I say this? Because when an opportunity arises for a change to emerge, if it isn't already accepted by the masses, we have our noses turned up and over scrutinize it before it gets built up. If no one in our personal network will support it, we won’t support it either. The reality is if we were all individualistic minded…how is it possible that all these businesses have millions/billions of customers for just one product.

Truth is we do have the right to enjoy whatever we choose. Or is it the illusion of choice that make us think we are in control. We have allowed the industries that makeup our society (i.e. entertainment, clothing, etc.) to determine what we as the people should select. Is that really a choice? Seriously, because if it was, wouldn’t you be able to have EXACTLY what you want – period. And not just from some multiple choice style options? Listen, 1% of the world’s population controls the wealth and well being of its inhabitants. The other 99% (us) is allowing them to determine our way of life even down to the content that comes through of our media forums. Seems real backwards, doesn’t it?

Look, to put it simply our children are being exposed to this drugs, sex and rock-n-roll mentality from the womb. Marketing executives know what they are doing and are so good at it that you can have your baby in the backseat, ride pass a McDonalds and if you don’t stop-you might have a problem. Seems like a winless battle huh? Well IT’S NOT! Electing a Black president should be evidence enough that all things are possible. CHANGE is something you have to stand up for and speak into existence - CONSTANTLY. So how strong is the voice inside of you?

I am calling out the people who have said in times pass “They are getting out of control with these songs on the radio” or “All you see on BET is big booties, phat rides and the glorification of criminal minds”. You say all that, but what you really gone do? I am putting on the spot those INDIVIDUALS who claim to be a trendsetter instead of a mindless follower. I challenge you today to actively seek out positivity in your communities, on your radio stations, on the Internet and even down to your conversations.

Act like you want something better for the children of this world whether you have some or not. Just remember, you was a child once yourself….
